This is not as fun as it sounds! The tile was not fun to take off. Everyone says it will peel right off!! Well Dusenbury did not use the right adhesive and it was really hard to get off. The tile chipped in pieces and it took a few weekends to fully get it off. It doesnt help that it was May/June and this bathroom gets bad air circulation (more on this later!), and when you had to close the door to keep the kitties out, it felt like 100 degrees while you were working.
After the tile and floorboards from the floor and the trim off the baseboards were all removed...My dad was able to see what a disaster this bathroom really was. What was supposed to start as a "DECORATIVE REMODEL" was now turning in to a "REGUTTING". Translation: more headaches, more $$$, more time. Plumbing needed to be fixed, nothing was insulated properly (hence some of the temperature problems), the electrical...dont even get me started on the electrical!! My dad said its a miracle the place didn't burn to the ground. DAMN YOU DUSENBURY!
The fun begins...
One of my duties was to clean up the mess, and thank god I splurged for those construction grade garbage bags!!! This mess alone filled 8 bags. Im not about to pay for a dumpster so this helped quite a bit! Though it was quite a workout to break down all the dry wall, stuff it into bags, bring the heavy as hell bags down the stairs and then drag them out at trash day.

My little Chlo-benet princess is the most curious kitty ever. She is literally obsessed with this bathroom. WHY? Because the door is closed. She never cared about it before. So I decided to make a sign to tell her whats up.
